Aid to Women Center qualifies for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit, also known as the Contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations. A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction on the income tax you owe. Tax credits reduce the amount of income tax you owe on your Arizona Tax Return. For example, if you owe $1,200 in state taxes and have donated $841 to Aid to Women Center, you are eligible for an $841 tax credit, and your net liability drops to $359.
There are four available tax credits in Arizona:
- Qualifying Charitable Organization
- Private School Tuition Organization
- Public School Extracurricular
- Military Family Relief Fund
You can get full credit for each of these funds. You do not have to pick between them. If you are already getting credit for the public or private school tax credit donation, don't worry: you can give to both and still take full credit all contributions.
The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit for Charitable Organizations has recently doubled. This means that married taxpayers can get up to $841 in AZ Tax Credit when you donate to Aid to Women Center while single taxpayers can get up to $421 in AZ Tax Credit. This new law also extends the deadline for contributions to April 15 of the following year. This means that April 15, 2024 is the deadline to donate for the 2023 tax year.
Please consider donating to Aid to Women Center. You can give $841 as a couple or $421 individually and get it all back when you file your Arizona Taxes.
